Anna Minton (’17) / Editor-in-Chief
Anna is a junior and a second year member of the BluePrints staff. Last year, she was opinion editor for the paper. This past summer, Anna attended the Ohio University Scripps School High School workshop. She enjoys being editor, as she is able to work with all aspects of media: writing, layout, photography and online editing. Anna loves to read and write, and she can usually be found with her face in a book
Carsten Savage (’17) / Opinion Editor
Carsten is a junior and a first year member of the BluePrints staff. He likes to play video games, bake, write reviews on Amazon and read and watch Star Wars books and movies. He is quite excited about the upcoming Star Wars movie this December in particular. Carsten does not know what he will do after high school, but he does want to do something interesting.
Justin Thompson (’17) / Feature Editor
Justin is a junior and a first year member of the BluePrints staff. Justin joined the staff because of his interest in journalism and, more specifically, sports journalism. However, he has found a new interest in feature writing because he is able to cover a wide range of interesting topics. Justin is a student-athlete and plays on the basketball team. He is an avid sports fan and can usually be found playing catch, watching the game or listening to music.
Cole Jaquith (’16) / Sports Editor
Cole is a senior and a first year member of the BluePrints staff as a sports editor. Cole plays football, hockey and lacrosse. His favorite professional team is the Columbus Blue Jackets, but he enjoys playing and watching all sports. Cole plans on attending Ohio Wesleyan University to play lacrosse and study either business or journalism. He also has a dog named Buddy.
Kyle Zies (’16) / Sports Editor
Kyle is a senior and a first year member as a Sports Editor for BluePrints. Kyle plays football for Granville and has a love for all sports. He especially enjoys covering Columbus Blue Jackets hockey and other professional and collegiate teams. Kyle plans on attending college to play football that bridges him into a career of coaching.
Morgan Prachar (’17) / Business Manager
Morgan is a junior and a first year member of the BluePrints staff. Morgan was hesitant on joining the staff because she was not confident in her writing, but since she joined Morgan has found a love for entertainment and feature writing. This is her second year at GHS; she is very glad to be involved in Blueprints and to be at Granville. Morgan has been a competition dancer for about 10 years and currently is dancing at Patty’s Dance Center.
Olivia Ebersole (’16) / Entertainment Editor
Olivia is a senior and a first year member of the BluePrints staff. She twirls competitively on a world level and for the Granville Marching Band. She joined the staff because of her love for photography and writing. Olivia loves to read romance novels, write and binge watch TV shows on Netflix. Many times she can be found in her backyard taking pictures of her dog and her books.
Grace Montgomery (’16) / News Editor
Grace is a senior and a first year member of the BluePrints staff. She developed an interest for journalism after doing her junior shadow day at ABC6 News. She is the communications director for the Youth Leadership Council of Licking County, the president of Latin club and a member of the cross country and track teams. She enjoys reading, watching “Parks and Rec” and eating ice cream everyday.
Daniel Brnjic (’17) / Reporter
Daniel is a junior and first year member of the BluePrints staff. He joined because he enjoys writing about subjects that have influence in his life. Daniel is a soccer player who plans on playing in college. He would like to earn his Law degree before joining the military. He enjoys long walks in the park and yoga.
Ashlyn Brockway (’17) / Reporter
Ashlyn is a junior and a first year member of the BluePrints staff. Ashlyn had heard about all the fun activities that went on in BluePrints and decided to join. Her after school activity is football and basketball cheerleading; she’s been cheering for the school all of high school and middle school. She doesn’t know what she wants to be after high school, but she knows she wants to go a college very far away.
Hunter Brown (’16) / Reporter
Hunter is a senior and a first year member of the BluePrints staff. Hunter is on the football team and enjoys dealing with the statistics from sports teams. His coverage is focused on the rankings and records of sports teams, including college and professional levels. He plans on attending college in hopes of receiving a business degree.
AnnDe Cook (’18) / Reporter
AnnDe Jo is a sophomore and a first year member of the BluePrints staff. She likes to write reviews and opinion articles on topics that are trending. AnnDe likes spending time with her friends on the weekends and playing golf. She doesn’t know what she wants to do after high school but doesn’t see herself leaving Ohio.
Sophia Ehlers (’17) / Reporter
Sophia is a junior and a first year member of the BluePrints staff. Sophia loves to write about a variety of things but mostly opinion and sports pieces. Her extra-curricular activities include playing on the varsity soccer and softball teams. She loves spending time with her family and playing with her two playful boxers. Sophia plans on continuing her softball career at the collegiate level and major in bio medical engineering.
Gillian McCracken (’17) / Reporter
Gillian is a junior and a first year member of the BluePrints staff. Gillian likes to write a variety of things but mostly opinion articles and reviews. She loves spending time with her friends and family and playing tennis in her free time. Gillian does not know what college she wants to attend but wants to major in early childhood development to become a kindergarten teacher.
Madeline Walker (’17) / Reporter
Madeline is a junior and a first year member of the BluePrints staff. Madeline hopes to write about the triumphs and pitfalls of life as an American teenager. Madeline runs cross country and indoor/outdoor track. Madeline enjoys exploring off the beaten path and spending time outside. Madeline hopes to study Environmental Science in college. Her biggest goal is to become a life and creativity guru.
Mrs. Amy Tolbert / Adviser
Mrs. Tolbert got her start in journalism as the features editor of her college newspaper. She briefly considered a career in the media after completing internships at KDKA-TV and Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood, but then she fell in love with teaching English. A student publication adviser for almost twenty years, she received specialized training in teaching journalism as a 2003 ASNE Summer Institute fellow.
